Right, before I head out to the shops to start my Christmas shopping, I’d like to take the time to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a very happy New Year!
2014 has been a fantastic year for MPSC, with so many highlights – but who can forget the incredible day that was “Bart’s Bash”? a superb day of fun sailing, fun racing and so many people out on the water who hadn’t raced before all competing – and doing very well in many cases!
So, if that started some interest in having another go at racing, what better day to start than New Years Day?
This event is one of our ‘between series’ one-off races and usually takes the form of a ‘Pursuit’ race – so you’ll have a much less crowded start line and won’t be as daunting and the Winter Wind is usually a little steadier. As long as you have the right kit to keep you as warm as possible, then you needn’t be too uncomfortable and don’t forget, there’ll be a patrol boat and your fellow sailors around to help you if you need any assistance or advice, so don’t worry, come down and have a go!
New Years Day, usually at least two races (the final format will be decided on the day) with the first start around 1045am.
Obviously you’ll need time to rig your boat, log on, get changed, have a cup of tea etc so most of us are at the club from just after 9am.
There you go then, start 2015 with a bang and join us on the startline.
See you there 🙂
